Santa's Porch is a toy drive founded in 2015 by Meg Rivett, Laurie Reynolds, Tracy Johnson, and LeeAnn DiPietropolo. Meg and Tracy had been volunteering at the Milford Food Pantry for over 20 years, while Laurie and LeeAnn had been helping during the holiday season. They were given the responsibility of organizing the toy room, a small space filled with donated toys. Unfortunately, there were never enough toys to meet the need, and it was heartbreaking to turn people away who were hoping to find gifts for their children.
That night we said, “We need to buy some toys!” Then, we wondered, “Maybe our friends would help?” Little did we know, that was an understatement. Our friends stepped up in an incredible way, dropping off toys at LeeAnn’s home porch. As the donations kept coming in, we began calling it “Santa’s Porch”—and that’s how the Santa’s Porch Charity was born.
Since then, every year, we’ve come together as a community to support this cause. We are constantly amazed by the generosity of our friends, neighbors, and now, people from all across the country. We are deeply thankful for the continued support.
